I saw one of these on ebay with 17 jewels.  What do you think happened there?  All the others I have seen are 21 jewels.

Kathy, you're right - I did a quick check on the bay and found several 17J 6BC movements. Our movement dB will always be a work in progress. As we find new examples or new information relative to jewel count or production years we update the record, as I just did. Thanks!

PS - everyone I found was still in the 1949-1952 date range.

Interesting huh.  The watch I was looking at was suppose to be a 21 jewel movement but it had the right dial.  I wonder if when it was built someone pulled the wrong movement.  I guess we wil never know.

Added to data base 0n 2/02/2012. Came in a 1950 Ladies Academy Awards "curtain Dial" dated A9
