Crusader

Appears to be a 1929 Bulova 'Templar' aka 'Templan'.  The case is in excellent shape with some pitting on the back.  The crown & hands look to be original.  the dial needs some cleaning & the crystal needs to be replaced.

The inside of the case is inscribed as follows:

This is what I believe to be a 1929 Crusader.  It is white gold filled and has a 10AL 15J movement with the shield date code.   The dial is printed and had been lumed.  I need to find a crystal and a dust cover.  

I just picked up this what I believe this to be a 1930 Crusader.  The movement is a 10AN with the Omega date code.   It is missing a crown and stem.   It appears to match the attached ad.   Similar to the Templar but this one is wider and seems a perfect match.  The dial has radium lumed numbers and cathedral hands.  After a complete tear down I replaced the mainspring, balance and serviced it.  I had a crown stem but not the correct crown.  I have a temporary one on it now and hope to find one soon.   It is now running exceptionally well.  

This is my "hand me down" Bulova, doesn't currently run and will need a rebuild.  I love the engraving on the case and it is much different to the watches my young counterparts wear. I quickly fell in love with the style of engraved Bulovas/any art deco watch of the era (but mainly Bulovas), after receiving this. Of course, this is a restoration project.

1930 Crusador, all hands destroyed

Case measures 31mm x 26.5mm non inclusive of the Crown using Calipers. Radium Dial with raised Gilt Bulova signature. A dustshield and retaining ring appears over the Movement. Hinged Caseback is stamped as shown. as found.
