Watch Description

I thought this looks like a Brewster model but I could not find any descriptions mentioning the two tone case. Inside the case says Pat. Jan 11 1927 Bulova New York 14K Rolled Gold Plate. There is one small wear through on the  back case corner.  This was very hard to get a photo showing the yellow gold running vertically on either side of the crystal the full length of the lugs. The face has radium numbers and cathedral hands both look original and are in very good condition.

With that advert, I could go along with Brewster

I am leaning against the Brewster.   The watch does does not seem to match the clearer ad versions of this model.  Especially the engraving.

Brewster seems like a good match

I'm good with the Brewster.

Another 1929 advert from May showing the case engraving to be different, so I'm tentative on a Brewster. There also no mention of two-tone or does the adverts show the gold strips.

I don't believe that this is a Brewster...I'm still at 'Unknown'

Well, we have certainly come full circle from where we started back to the same conclusion...Unknown for now

Whatever it is, I have one too, also black dial but mine is definitely refinished. That makes 3 out of 4. Pure speculation but I've seen so few black dials from this era that maybe they had black dials originally.

BTW still captioned as a Brewster

Rob, does it look like an old re-dial, or a modern one, with the notch? Does it look like a professional job?

It is curious that we continue to see random models with a black dial, which were never advertised nor mentioned. This may have been an option by the jeweler, or perhaps some entrepreneur advertised this service in the papers.

Panel - It seems this one should have been updated to Unknown?
