I'm in with "Treasurer" regardless the dial color.

Shawn,

I would agree.

No ad shows or describes the Watch in Black but looking at the rear of the Dial, the condition of the Case, the lack of any service marks inside the back and lack of tool marks on the Movement IMO it's original to the Watch.

'TREASURER'

I'm going to take a shot of the 4 numeral which You may like.

Hey Mark

The only way to determine if the dials been redone is to take it off and look for a scribed id #. The refinishers usually put them by the centerpost hole. It's usually pretty hard to find a original balack dial that pristine unless it wasn't worn much. Wether it is or isn't,  she's a looker! Love the 4, I've never seen that before, or maybe just never noticed, now I'll be checking.

Ha!

I'll speculate - as I often tend to do.

Walt Disney's Treasure Island was released in 1950

You gotta check out when the released "The Time Machine" because although our ads for this model start in 1950, I have a 1949 Treasurer which fits the bill.  Bulova would for sure market and even name a model based on something as significant as Treasure Island though.  I think of the Ivanhoe case shape and that mustache, or the Dewey model. Possibly named for one of those three famous brothers...Huey, Dewey and Louie...(born 1937 for comics/paper; 1938 on screen).
