Watch Description

Just bought this watch on eBay and will give it away as a present. From Dr Ranfft's website I gather the 5AB movement was produced since 1936. Together with the circle symbol on the movement, this suggests a date of 1944.

I have been looking through the vintage ads on this website and the model that was marketed as 'Cleopatra' in the 1940'ies seems a very close match to me. I have added one example from 1942, but there are very similar ads from 1941 and 1943.

Agree with Cleopatra. 1943 ad states 10KT gold filled, which matches watch. Is it unusual to see a case s/n of this era that starts with a letter vs a number?

I think its a little unusual to see case SN startign with a letter this early.  Trying to remember if when it does happen, the examples are Swiss.

Hi Coen, welcome back. This is a pretty little watch, looks to be in very good condition. I agree that she's a Cleopatra model, nice job finding the advert.
