Watch Description

I guess I already started by saying I don't think this is the right crystal, but it seems to fit well and sure looks cool! Both movement and case back are stamped L5, leading me to believe this is a 1955, but I leave that for the panel to decide. I've looked through all the '50's watches that are posted and all the ads, the best I can come up with is it looks most like a '53 Ambassador A with different lugs. Also kind of looked like a Senator in one of the ads. I wore this around all day and forgot I had it on, so light and comfortable. Kept awesome time too! Whatever it's title is I'm calling this one A Keeper. It's funny how you fall for a watch.

Certainly thinking that this watch is part of the Ambassador series. Looking now for a match.

Sorry Dane, I missed this one all week, I agree with Bob and Will  on Ambassador "A" ID

PS: the advert above is 1953

When I zoom into the "A" in the ad the lugs appear to show some horizontal steps and they appear to extend out past the sides. I don't see these features in the subject watch,. It looks like a match otherwise and could be an Ambassador of another variant.

Yea I do sort of see the "hips" that extend beyond the rounded part of the case side.  Sure were lots of Ambassadors around this time too.
I'd go three ticks for Ambassador generic, or two ticks for the "A" variant.
Still voting for "A" though

Agree with A "A"

edit: Ken scores,  the case really does not fit for A "A"
