Hi  SybrenAnne, welcome to mybulova! A very nice watch, one of my personal style favorites of the "23" series.

Thank you. It's a new purchase and I'm very happy with it.

Do you know if it's true that the 10BPAC movement is the first 100% US made automatic movement, or is it 'only' the first 100% US made Bulova movement?

With regards, Sybren

The 10BPAC is not the only USA made movt Bulova produced, there were several others. As to it being the first USA automatic, as far as I can tell it does look like it was. That is actually a big deal as no one else was doing this in the US at the time...

(EXCEPT! Elgin. They had the US made Auto 607 in 1950. They even did a freespung balance Auto called the 761.)

In addition, there were numerous 'in house' movts produced by Bulova, not necessarily US made. These were movts designed and made by Bulova in their entirety. Even the ebauches were for the most part modified in the US.

Tnx for the info !
Now I want the Elgin too .....
Regards Sybren

Edit : I've read that the Elgin 607 is a bumper automatic....
The 761 freesprung is from 1958
So, the 23 still can be the first US made automatic ! ; )
