Does anyone have a 10 AE staff/balance kit, the kind with the whole unit including the bridge.

Need one for my Calhoun. Thank you.

I have the bridge but not the balance wheel. Let me know if you need one.

Ahh yes.. I call it brain surgery....one false move or bump and you have a dead patient. Getting that hair spring back into shape can take some doing....but really satisfying when you drop the balance assemble in again and she jumps back to life with a strong beat...maybe that should be hear surgery. :-)

I've only ever successfully replaced one 10AN balance staff and whilst it was a success, I'm sure that if a true watch maker/repairer was watching they would have criied over my technique.

I did once find an online mob that sold the entire new balance wheel complete for about $25, not sure if they have any left but worth a try..if I can find their name agaiin.

Everything about this amazing little engine is perfect, it even tries it's hardest to run when I hold it upside down at a certain angle.
All this with the tip of the bridge end of the staff missing....breaks your heart.

I have found a couple of good balances with what appear to be good hairsprings. I have to work tomorrow but will try to get them figured out tomorrow night and will ship one off to you my old friend.

Got a good one out of one of the many movements I had on hand and it spins freely with good hairspring and is attached to the balance bridge.

I will try to get it out to you when we dig out of this lovely snow storm which left 8 inches of snow on us.
