1938 President +Bulova signed bands

Submitted by GVP on January 19, 2011 - 12:51pm

 Hi all

I have a 1938 46mm long, curved rectangular President .  Attached to it is an expandable 12kgf band with the original Bulova signature. I have only come across three of these Bulova signed bands in the past, all of which were on 1950-1953 watches (2 were on the cushion style horn tubed lug directors), although they were also date stamped.

This has the same Bulova markings but no date stamp, just the Pat pend marks.  Question is could this be original to a 1938 watch or is it likely from a later watch? Looks later 1950esque to me I was going to replace it with leather as I personally dislike GF bands, but if it is possibly original, i'll leave it.

Thanks

GJ

Looks like the same band that came with my N.O.S. 54 Hadley. So IMO it's not original to the 38 President.  Bob

 Hi Bob.

I thought so, as stated I'd only seen Bulova bands on early-mid 1950s watches previously. Off it comes then.
