1965 Date King service needed

Just found my Grandfather's 1965 Date King.  I don't remember him ever wearing it, but it needs some servicing.  Just wondering what I could expect to pay for the following:  crystal replacement or polished, movement cleaned/serviced.  Is waterproofing something that gets attention during service?

The watch works, but is probably desparate for cleaning.  Any recommendations for a trusted source in Michigan (Saginaw area preferred)?

Also, with the movement working, is it safe to pull out the crown and test the date movement?  How does this crown work, first stop, second stop, etc.?
