Has there ever been an Academy Award model with "Excellency" on the face ?

Not that I m aware of. There may be a His/Her Excellency model with the same or simialar case as one of the Bulova Accademy Awards models, as there were a few.

However I woud say that if it has the "Excellency' stamp on the dial it won't be an AA.

I didn't think there was one but there is someone on ebay selling an "All Original" Academy Award model. It's a very nice watch it looks like a 50 Academy Award case but it has Excellency on the face and oddly enough, there is nothing on the back whatsoever and he is asking $1,296.00 for it.

I see it. That is a 'His Excellency' in a non-Bulova case. It does resemble an Academy Award case but does not match any in the database or any I have seen. The lack of Bulova markings speaks volumes.

Sometimes in removing the personalized engraving on a case back, the entire thing is stripped, but unless there are some markings on the inner case back, this watch is 100% nonconforming. The only thing 'A A' about this is the box.

I should add that normally we do not discuss active listings in the forum, but I do hate to see someone paying a highly inflated price for something that is not what it is presented as.

I agree with Rob.
