Admiral?

The case looks identical to the Admiral which shows in the 1940 ads as white dial and 17 jewel movement. This one black dial with 21 jewel 7AP.

Any clues??

Can't be the Admiral.

I have a 1940:  White Dial, Modern Hands, 7AH, Gold back.

Numerals are identical, Seconds track is identical, logo is identical

Prior to discovering the 'ADMIRAL' ads this design had been ID'd as a 'CAPTAIN' but without visual confirmation - Crystal spec only.

If the Case design is the same the problem with the scenerio is a Captain is a lower Military rank Admiral, so why the 21 J movement?

Common sense would have the Names reversed. - Admiral 21J, Captain 17J.

?  Your guess is as good as mine...

Not sure the jewel count matters that much. Possibly left over movement stock or a replacement. Either way the model of this watch case is that of an Admiral, so I call 'Admiral'

Sometimes I do believe we overthink things.  That's an Admiral.
