Aftermarket Bulova Leather Bands?

Submitted by EverydayCats on September 19, 2011 - 11:33am

Is there a good source for aftermarket Bulova style leather bands? At 14mm & 15mm they are hard to come by as far as I can research. I want the standard tan leather stiched bands.

Thanks.

There are some newer styles out there but the era correct vintage Bulova straps are like Hens teeth. the way to ID them is the buckle style, the lettering used and the strap end style.  I was fortunate enough to find a n.o.s. for this 1950 'DUO WIND'. - note the pointed end to the strap, the buckle is signed and the correct style for the 1950's.

They are so hard to find that what I typically do is find an era correct strap and add the correct Bulova signed buckle to it.

Thanks, Fifth. I have a couple watches without bands that I am reading for a new home and I want to install something as close to original as I can find.

In the Bulova ad pages I see what appears to be a flat leather, maybe light brown or tan, that has stiching along the edges. Since I have a couple Senators that require 14mm-15mm bands which makes them very odd in today's world, so, they are indeed like finding hen's teeth.

I saw your post a few days ago about the nos band score! Excellent find.

Thanks
