New member with a question.

Hi, I am a new member here, I started tinkering with watches about a year ago, mostly with Seiko and Orient, but a while ago I found a Oceanographer 666, that I just had to have.

I have been trying to find a new crystal for it , but so far no luck, so I hope you guys can help me out.

On the inside of the caseback there are the following :

Case714

Sj 332

and on the outside M9

Best regards Hans-Petter

Good morning,

I recently purchased a Bulova watch but am not sure what the year are model number is.

The information on the back of the case reads:Bulova A6, Water resist, St. Steel back,C860605.

Any assistance would be appreciated,

Thanks

Scott

Scott you will need to take the back off and get the number on the inside of it. It will be in black ink most likely. Also look to see what the calibre of the movement is, it will be on the back of the movement and be something like 10BC or 11AC or the like inside a rectangle.

Welcome to the world of bulova, we look forward to hearing from you and hope we can help.

Hi Scott, the A6 indicates it's a 2006 watch watch, which is a little newer than we 'specialize' in - we're more about pre 1980 watches. Unfortunately, Bulova serial numbers, the C860605 number, don't seem to have any relationship to model names. Is there a number on the dial, below the 6? It's possible that's the model number. After the mid 70's Bulova didn't name very many watches but the more recent ones have 'series' names like Gemini, Marine Star, Precisionist and a few others. Knowing if the movement is mechanical ( manual / self wound) or quartz could also help nail it down, a photo would be best.
