Please help ID Older Minty 30's ?

Submitted by watchbuff on February 4, 2011 - 9:17pm

For a couple years now, I have owned an older Bulova from I believe the 30's, judging by its looks. Case number is 9004004. Movement is a 21 Jewel 7AP. This is older than the typical date code letter system so I do not know how to date it exactly. Measures 1.77 inches or 45 mm long with a slightly curved 10K gold filled case.

Any help with a model name, exact date, or anything else is highly appreciated.

I just checked the Kreisler expansion bracelet Pat number 2,064,760 which dates it to 1936. Since the band compliments the watch so well, I think it may be the original. Does anyone know if Kreisler bands were original equipment for Bulova watches in this era?

Hi Watchbuff,

Looks like you have a 1939 Bulova President

The movement looks like it has the Shield (1939( & Arrow (1937) stamps on it.

Nice watch!

21 Jewel 7AP confirms 'PRESIDENT'

Double Date stamped - 1937 and 1939.  (*1st time I've seen a Double stamp in  non consecutive Years)

Would be a 1939 PRESIDENT.
