Watch Description

Here is another interesting one that I personally have never encountered. White gold filled with pierced "cat ear" lugs. White dial with white gold markers and diamonds set in 6 sided silver colored mounts at 12, 3, 6 and 9.

The only references I find to this watch are all dated 1958. Nothing in 1957 or 1959 Line Books or ads. One year model?

It is listed in the 1958 Line Book as Beau Brummell "X", however, I find it in a couple ads referred to as Bulova 23 "ZW" I find no difference between the two, and oddly, both are listed in the 1958 Price Guide, bearing the same ID number of  30141, with the yellow gold version referred to as BB "U' and also as 23 "YW" ID number 30142.

Based on the fact it is only pictured in the Line Book as a Beau Brummell, with no reference to Bulova 23, I personally would be inclined to call this a Beau, but am good with either ID. Either/or is a first for the Db.

1958 Beau Brummell "X" or

1958 Bulova 23 "ZW" ?

PS: watch came to me on a miserable worn out expansion band. I added the NOS leather matching the reference photos as best I could. Watch is keeping perfect time.

Pretty pleased with this one. Perimeter of dial under indices is finished to almost look like Mother-of-Pearl with a record groove center. White gold plated case is marked L9 and Bulova Pat. Pending. Front loader waterproof.

Crystal was pretty scratched / scuffedup and it made the dial look like it suffered from age "weather checking", but that isn't the case. Besides a few center grooves that appear to be slightly darkened, the face is perfect. Crystal polished up near perfect and I find no signs of plating wear.

Mounted on a period Champion black Polished Alligator band as seen in the illustration from the 1959 Line Book. Keeping perfect time.

I haven't had this one apart, as I don't possess a blade thin enough and there is no "tab" to pry on. I can't tell if the lugs are attached to the front or back portion of the case. Case back marked "10 K Gold Filled Bulova L6" with s/n on opposite end. Diamonds at 12, 3 and 9 positions

Per 1957 Linebook BAWDO131, this would appear to be a Beau Brummell "L", and a first for the database. Entry shows 2 variants, white gold w/black and yellow gold w/white face.

Mounted on a nice JB 10K plate mesh band and keeping perfect time.

On the case back and inside it is labled 14k gold. Other than 8AE and A9 I cannot determine more on the movement, date, age, or model name. Numerous watchmaker scribes can be seen. Jeweler appraisal as of July 2019 was $850.  Please help to determine all possible.

I have looked all over this site and elsewhere, but I can't seem to find an exact match for this watch. I originally thought it was a diamond excellency, however the dial is textured, has 3 diamonds instead of 2, has an applied bulova logo, and has 23 jewels printed on the face. the diamond excellency has none of those. It could be non conforming, or it could be a whole different model. Maybe the line book could shed some light, or I possibly missed something in an ad when I was searching.

Watch Description

Three diamonds on the dial in the 12, 3, and 9 positions and Bulova on the crown. This watch is self-winding and has kept time accurately for over a day now. I spend a considerable amount of time looking for other photos of this watch and could only locate a photo of a similar watch in white gold that did not contain any extra description.  Back reads: "BULOVA 10KG filled L9 Pat pending"
