I've already emailed this to Admin but I wanted to post it up here because I think it's so cool. I've been chasing down ad's lately and this is one of my favorites so far!
Check out this SWEET ad from 1935 I bird dogged! Great detail and I think it might even help out with my unknown I found on the ebay earlier in the week. How GREAT is this ad guys?!

I figured you were going to be stoked about this one! Haha... makes me wonder. Here's what the ad says about the 1935 Lone Eagle
"17-J, Raised gilt numbers. Case natural color gold top, white gold color back and center.
10 kt. Rolled Gold Plate, Case Two Tone Effect"
Annnd here's the watch I'm waiting to recieve in the mail...
Two toned *CHECK*
17-J *CHECK*
10 kt. RGP *CHECK*
Hinged case like all LE's *CHECK*
Don't know the year yet though... and it sure looks like the bezel has scrolling down the sides from the picture... and my below watch doesn't... bah!
In reply to I wonder what is meant by by Stephen Ollman
Yeah good question... I was thinking like the one above... the top of the bezel is gold... then the middle part going to the lugs is white gold... and the back step of the case is white gold.... if mines not a LE.... maybe the Senator on the top of that 1935 ad? No scrolling on the bezel on that one, but it doesn't say anything about two tone with that one.
And of course since I have no clue what year my watch is I'm going to shut up now until I get it.
Correction to above comment:
Top yeller gold hinge, even.
I would say the watches were made in 1934. Showing up in a 1935 Sears catalogue, that took almost a year in itself to assemble before printing, was normal. For the watches it was normal factory pipeline from manufacturer to retailer time involved. Kinda like the missing link for us collectors about the watches in the ad though! The early 30s depression years were pretty tough years for everybody, as my Dad told me.
