Double and Triple date stamped movements

Submitted by plainsmen on January 8, 2011 - 11:23am

I've noticed over the past several weeks I've been fining a couple of these.

Anyone else have examples?

My 1940-1941 Senator

My 1941-1942 Senator

My 1937-1938-1939 Corrigan

My 1943-1944 President

Asterisk=1941  T=1942   X=1943

 I recon the official date of the watch is the latest date. In 1941 & 1942 probably rejected & the plate got tossed in the rework bin. Fit good in 1943 & hit the streets. If only these things could talk.

Ever seen this on a Swiss made Bulova movement?  These are all US.

Excellent point!!

I also like Waynes point about they possibly being movements that were put aside for what ever reason and re-used at a later date.
