Beauty!

Sqaure on the movement along with the case style and dial design say 1927. Wide Tonnau shape is all Banker but the step and carving detail is throwing Me off.

The case is actually a case with the lugs being seperate pieces, what I know about this watch being right or wrong is that it was purchased from the widow of the original owner who was said to have worked for Bulova in the design dept. and the widow claimed that it is a one of a kind designed by her late husband. problem is I don't know her name or her late husbands name, and the person that I purchased the watch from 10 years ago passed away shortly after I bought the watch. So thats what I know for whatever it's worth.

Wow, Kool,

It looks like someone made a case back with lugs and made a movement with a bezel to fit. I like how they made a provision for the winding Crown on the case back.

You have to add pictures of them seperated and of the movement.

You may very well have a one of a kind watch. I've never seen one like it! Very cool story behind it.

Trouble is how do you value a one of a kind?

It is certainly a beautiful and very unique watch. I think the dial is1930 tonneau. Probably the dial I should have on my 1930 Lone Eagle (personal joke). Is there any paperwork with the watch. Do you have a receipt for the watch. Did all of this changing of possesion happen in the same town or county. If you can find an obituary you can probably find out where he worked. That could validate the story. I wish I had your problem.

Look forward  to seeing the movement and inside case to confirm these details.

Very interesting case design indeed.
