Stamford VS Aviator

I'm opening up this discussion again because I don't feel we're any closer to resolving the issue of ID'ing the difference between these two watches. I recently purchased what I thought was a "Stamford" only to discover that my watch and the "Aviator" are what appears to me to be identical. Note: I haven't received my watch as yet, but based on the pics and ID marks they seem to be identical. As much as I appreciate the Bulovas of the 20's, 30's, and 40's I'm begining to think they are no different than what the old auto makers used to do by mixing and matching misc. parts to get rid of "old stock", very depressing...

Yes, please do...

I have yet to SEE a single (correctly ID'd) "Aviator" model to date, ONLINE!? And Bulova apparently made (3) Aviator models, according to the various catalogs I have:

 Aviator (1940? Rectangular bezel opening)

Aviator - Stamford ('40s Tonneaus, same crystals)

Aviator - Norman ('50s Tonneaus, same crystals)
