1935 Lone Eagle?

Submitted by NOVA on March 11, 2011 - 6:36pm

This sure looks like it could be the gold variant of the mid-30s Lone Eagle, but the ads specify 10k gold filled, while mine is 10k rolled gold plate.

10AN, 17 Jewels

Hinged case with serial number 5173122

Watcha think?

Dunno... looks like it?

Stephen has a 1934 white gold model in the database that sure makes me think that's what I've got, but, as you see from the ad you posted, the natural color is supposed to be gold filled, not rolled gold plate.  I suppose as long  as the case is a match, I shouldn't be so concerned about that?

Lisa

I like it for a series IV Lone Eagle. I would like it even more if I had won it. LOL

Lisa, I think this will make your day. They did these in both gold filled and gold plate.

I did see that, but only the white gold is listed as plated.  The natural gold is always listed as filled.  I'm just going to assume that the ads didn't cover every possibility.

Sorry, Wayne.  Whenever I bid now I wonder which one of you I'm bidding against.  I feel kinda bad about it (but not bad enough to lose, obviously!).

Hi LISA :-)

Good eye, lady! (I overlooked that listing...)

Hereafter's the rest of (12.14.35) the ad I posted two days ago, for Mark's 1935 "Lady Bulova..."

BEST :-)  Scott

P.S.

And indeed... not ALL options were listed in ANY ad... as that would CLUTTER the (illustration/marketing/ad) aesthetic!
