1957 Men's Unknown

I don't have any ad's from 1957 but the case design is so remarkable you'd think it would be a "name" watch?  I don' know the movement as of yet... it will need a crystal, hands, and probably some work... but I'm digging the dial.  Anyone recognize it?

 Plains, I have one just like it, but a 1955 L5.  11AC 17 jewel movement.  My guess is that it is a Director, but I have been wrong before.  Sorry about the picture, done before I had a good macro lense.

That's a sweet looking textured dial Geezer... thanks for posting it!  Hopefully with a refurb mine will look as nice as that one!

 Thanks, maybe it's time to get a better picture.  One thing that I have noticed in trying to find the name of these watches, is that there does not seem to be much continuity in styling among named watches from one generation to the next, with the possible exception of carrying a movement forward.
