I am having this serviced because the hour register was advancing when the watch was being wound. Anyway, my watch repairer sent me some pics:

That's why I love mechanical watches.  There is sheer artistry in their design.  The glint of the gilt, contrast of the different metals and jewels.  Poetry in motion---now I will have that song buzzing all night.

This is a Valjoux 7733 movement, I love them and love to work on them, Thanks for the show. Mike.

dejjl - top photo - just above where the large thumb screw is on the movement holder is the balance wheel. Just above the bottom curve of the balance wheel is the movement # - 7733.

Great Mike!  I'll remember that when I finally get my Stars and Stripes.... someday.

Right now... I'm still on a wood panel high!  It's going to take me awhile to come down... haha.

Seriously... we should get some Funyuns.  =P

Update to this post. I've just check the movement on my Chrono "C" and it is indeed a 7736.

Anyone know the difference?

Hi Stephen,

I think the differance is the Valjoux 7733 has two sub dials, one for the 30 min counter and one for the seconds, and the 7736 has 3 sub dials, one for the 30 minute counter @ 3 postion, one for hours @ 6 position , and one seconds counter @ 9 position.

That was my bad as I looked at the back of the movement and the two movements are built on the same base frame and the 7733 is more popular then the 7736

 Mike..
