I bought this last week (high res sent to admin for databasing)
Shows the Oakley that Nova-Novice has the only example of so far.
Also... how interesting is it that the Lone Eagle came in not only yellow gold, but two-tone, AND white gold for three seperate colors!
Plains,
This ad is a truly great find. Most interesting is the ad for the Lone Eagle IV that would also validate the existance of Lone Eagle III in 2-tone & yellow gold colors. We are all aware that 1931 was a year in which advertising was almost non existant due to the depression. We have only one ad for 1931 & it only shows the white Lone Eagle III (does not clearly depict the engraving on the case). With deductive reasoning, It is not much of a stretch to declare the 2-tone 1931-32-33 bastard children out of the closet. The ad also validates the yellow Lone Eagle III.
Thanks again Plains for you diligence & research skills in locating and purchasing these ads that are filling in the blanks of Bulova history, very much appreciated.
