I will guess that Your Watch was manufactured in 1935, the Case will open at the 6 O'Clock position where the 2 Case halves meet.

If You look to the top of this page You will see a link which states 'information', within the drop down menu a link to 'Bulova Date Codes' and where to locate them.

Any further information can be found in the Vintage advertisements within the same 'information' link.

'GILDA' is advertised as being 17 Jewels, although the Case design is very similar the 7 Jewel version is more likely than not named differently.

To wind it, simply turn the crown clockwise until it starts to get hard to turn, to set it, pull the crown away from the case and turn to the correct time, push the crown back in.

To open up the case back, you will need the backside of a butter knife, turn the watch over and you will see a small tab between the bezel and back, gently pry up on the tab and the caseback should pop off, usually with the movement in it, gently work the movement out of the caseback and note all the info stamped on the movement, it should have jewel count, movement model code and date code.

Post some pictures of both the watch and movement with the info in the "Add a watch" tab under the home tab, and we can check it out.
