 certainly pre 1924. Other than that I don't know. If anyone has any info on the pre 24 serial numbers they may help. I have come across a couple of movements like this inc a BBI.

The first numeral of the Case seriel number is a good indication of the Watches production Date.

What is it?

2 = 1922

The number inside the case appears to be 1361316 , these are pictures by the seller , I have not received the watch yet.

Really nice example of what I believe is a 1921 "Bulova" watch. Nice to see face marked "Bulova", please update with more pics when watch arrives. I have a 19K marked case as well, nice to see another one.

Great find el tel.

Almost forgot to mention, I believe Nova Novice has a similar watch.

The American Standard Watch Case Company was founded in 1920 and formerly located on Sprague Street. The building at 425 Dexter Street was constructed in 1942-43. A newspaper article reported that American Standard Watch Case Company led the trade in the late 1920s. The building was modernized in 1945 with an addition to accommodate a cafeteria for the company’s 850 employees. The company was bought by watch giant Bullova in 1948 (RIHPHC 1979, 1981; Woodward 1986), who still used this factory as of 1981. The building is currently occupied by K & M Associates.

The above is just a little factual information that might interest you!

Terry, at the time Bulova made your watch they WEREN'T making their own cases, they subbed out or farmed out the cases the needed with their specs to fit their movements.

It's a Case known to be used by Bulova.

looking through the watch ads , the above watch case and face is similar to a 156 on the 1923 adds.

Is there enough proof for ADMIN to register this as a 1921 no 156 , or is more evidence required ?

thanks    terry

Hi Terry

I think you gotta ad the watch yourself under your account.  If the model name is not available in the dropdown menu, there is a box in which you can ad the new model name.  This gets it in the system, then magically some stars appear from the panel members.  The movement databse is not updated automatically, but that's something I can do soon.  I include a reference in the comments field of the movement database to the watch on record evidencing the actual movement to keep things clean, so after you or admin ad the watch, I'll update and cite it in mvent database comments.
