Douglas? I Don't Think So

Submitted by DarHin on January 31, 2012 - 11:21pm

After looking at every rectangle watch in the database the closest one I came up with was the Douglas but the lugs are different. I checked the ads from '44 to '46  also. Could it be a later case?

Movement: 7AP 21j

Date Code: O 1944

Case #4238199

Overall Length: 35mm

Width (sans crown): 20mm

Between Lugs: 15mm

Solid 14KYG

Is it me or does that front on picture show the dial/movment quite a bit off for that case?

I've been browsing around the site and came across the link to your website, plainsmen and noticed that your Blackhawks look alot like a square version of this watch. Wotcha' think?

No, the dial is fine except for the fact that it appears someone tried to "clean" it and managed to rub off all of the printing. The cylinder faceted crystal is causing that effect.

Not a Douglas for sure. I have a couple of these also, 1 yellow, 1 Rose gold but never have found an ad. The hunt continues. I'd get the dial refinished and then it will look terrific.
