New Site Feature

Has everyone noticed the latest new feature that Stephen added?  Now, when you search the watch database for a specific characteristic, you get results for all watches, not just watches with an assigned model name.  So, for example, if you search on 1955, you'll get all the watches entered for that date, regardless of whether the watch has a specific name.  The same is true when you search by movement, etc.  You no longer have to search the "known" and "unknown" watches separately.

I think that's a great new feature, and I appreciate Stephen adding it.  The "unknown" watches are just as valuable and interesting as those that have a model name assigned.  In fact, I think they are more interesting, because they are mysteries yet to be solved.  I'm glad that we can now easily see them and include them in our research.

Great functionality!  Now I don't need to have multiple browser tabs open and end up with two sets of results for one query.  This allows us to see the unknowns with the knowns, and compare characteristics etc...  So much easier.

Thanks Stephen for setting this up!   ...and I'm off to look at the 7AK's just for duck soup.  I might peek at those between 1951 through 1953 to see what comes up.  Cool feature.

Thanks to Lisa's suggestion I've now also included the ability to search across multiple models.

SHIFT for sequential, CTRL for non sequential

That is excellent, Stephen.  Thank you!

Thanks Admin   The multiple model search too now.  Great.  Two days ago, I was thinking how our research questions are often limited by our ability to "ask" them, not on the ability of the data to suggest an answer.  This is going to help so much.  Thanks again.

...and when I accessed the site from my cell phone, it automatically detected I was doing so and displayed a neat mobile interface which works much better than the full site version.  Good job Admin!!
