1926 10A Watch Movement Serial Number

Submitted by DreamWeaver on June 1, 2012 - 1:23pm

What can anyone tell me of a watch movement from a June 10, 1924 Patent-dated cut-corner case (probably a Conquerer) that reads, "Bulova Watch Co USA 10A 17 Jewels USA" and Serial Number "185292" ? I see a lot of posts dealing with early serial numbers and I thought someone might know what year the movement might be and whether it is from a Conquerer case or a Lone Eagle case. The case is stamped Serial Number 6417962. Again...there are some members who know more about these numbers then I do. Also...is it true the Conquerer models are even more rare then the LE cut-corner models? (seeing how the Conquerer came first and the case was then used in for the LE Eagle later? It seems not so many were made. Thanks! DW

So you pipped JP to the post for this one eh? Look in the " what is it?" posts for "conqueror or LE" post.

What does "pipped JP to the post" mean?

I didn't know anything about out-snipping anyone...but now I get the idea...another member was researching an Ebay auction on Forum and I got accussed of beating them out. I didn't even see the post until Bobbee brought it to my attention with the link....so I didn't pip or snip anyone...they beat themself by advertising the item #1 and #2 bidding ridiculously low for a special vintage watch...if they wanted it they should have gone a little deeper in the pocket is all I can say! No harm-no foul....but I think it's a bad practice to research Ebay auctions on this site - not cool IMO - and it only draws attention and raises the price.

In any case...I've concluded it IS a 1926 Conqueror and I'm very happy with the watch and getting it for what I considered a bargain price of $160 with shipping! I'll post it at some future time. DW

Chill out, DW. I wasn't "accusing" anyone of anything, just making an observation, not being snarky or bitchy, so no need for the 'tude, dude.

And, by the way, just trying to be helpful by directing you to a post with the info you were looking for.

Whilst the action of direct posting of active eBay links in not allow, General discussion about any vintage Bulova watch is allowed as long as there is no reference to it being active on ebay.

DW, congrats on a fine purchase.

When you take ownership of the watch would you please let us know what the movemet date stamp is to confirm the notion that it is a Conqueror.

Thanks Admin....I didn't intend to insult anyone by my comments but apparently I was perceived as having an attitude....doesn't matter.....I don't believe the inside back case was patched or repaired - it looks more like someone tried to attach something (a Masonic Seal?). I think it can be removed without damage to the patent date. I will photograph and post the movement date stamp information later. (I already sent it out to have the inside case back examined for lifting off the residue there). Do you think you or anyone could PM me with any information to get a proper set of hands even if they need to be re-lumed??
