i was given this watch but have no info on it.
It was given to my grandfather for his retirement and has his name and the date 1947 engraved into the back but thats all i know about it
any info would be greatly appreciated

It's a Bulova Sea King nicknamed "Whale" On the back of the case look for a one letter followed by one number. for example N5. At the top of this page click on "Information", then click "Bulova Date Codes" on the drop down menu. The date code charts are self explanitory. N5 would convert to 1975.
