Congratulations to Lisa Andrew on her recently published article in the Jan/Feb 2013 edition of the NAWCC Watch and Clock Bulletin.  Her article, "Bulova: Finding Answers" is a great summary of the current status of our quest for Bulova answers, and a very nice summary of the utility of both her website http://www.watchophilia.com/ and MyBulova.com.

Just received a  Beaut, an Astronaut that still had the original battery. Not running, after cleaning the battery compartment, I could find no ther damage. The coils seem to test to specs, Hve ordered an Accucell battery because this movement needs a 1.35 volt not a 1.55. My area is antique Pocket watch and Clock repair.  I have a few Bulovas and love them. My client wants to place this one for sale and wanted advice on best place. Here or ebay. I do not normally repair for sale but I buy enough parts on ebay to rate a few free sales. What do you suggest.

So ok I have two watches (one pictured below), both the same, both needed new crystals. I got two GS CO496-60 crystal, they fit perfect EXCEPT the damn dome doesn't appear deep enough and on both watches it pushes the centre second hand down and stops the watch running. ANyone know exactly what crystal these should take or where i could find two of them. this has been driving me nuts for a month or two now, any help appreciated.

I misplaced the cyrstal for a Ladies Bulova identified by the panel as a 1925 6724. The watch is posted on MyBulova with a drawing of the crystal. The crystal would be a rounded rectangle approximately 21.6mm x 12.4mm.  DarHin searched and thinks it might be a GS P390 crystal. Any help is appreciated.

The American Boy

Hrmm... well I've been on the hunt for a Bulova American Boy for three years now.  I have not seen hide nor hair of one.  I've seen a Bulova American Boy watch crystal packet, but never the watch.

Here is even an ad I found for the American Boy, surrounded by a full page ad of Bulova watches.

1950 His Excellency XX "Kansas Relay" Watch & History

Submitted by plainsmen on January 5, 2013 - 3:13pm

I recently came across this watch with an unusual dial.  My curiosity piqued, I found some great information about the Track & Field events at the University of Kansas called the "Kansas Relays".  It's an interesting read.  Though I haven't found anything about the Bulova connection as of yet, what I assume is this watch was given as a momento to someone involved with the games.  I'd be very curious to find out just how it's tied in.  Was it just to the winners?  Was it to the coach?
