How careful about water exposure should I be with a vintage 1960 Goddess of Time?

*If I am posting this in the wrong I have a Goddess of Time “W” model watch from 1960 that I’ve been wearing nearly every day for the past couple of months, but recently I’ve been very worried about damaging it with water. I’m pretty sure that this particular model was not marketed as “waterproof” and as it was my grandmother’s I am especially careful with it. I even take the watch off every time I need to wash my hands... However I wanted to ask about this. How easy would it be to damage the watch through water exposure?

Is it Really a Bulova?

I have an 8AE with no stamp that I can  find or serial number. The case is not Bulova either but is "Master".

The dial is branded "Bulova Movement" and the case is something I've never seen before.

Did Bulova make this or is it a knockoff?

what is the weight of the gold in 14K Accutrons

hello,

New member to the forum.

I have a Bulova Accutron 14K M9 watch and know that my watch weighs 37grams(only the watch, no band or strap)

I have seen several different opinions on the web on how much actual weight of this 37 gram is 14K Gold.

Short of actually taking the watch apart and finding out myself I thought I would ask this question and see if somebody has more accurate info on the gold content.

If this question has been asked in the past, please accept my sincerest apologies and kindly point me to this info.

Thanks,

Mario

Bulova's Lume History

Hello everyone!  This is my first post on this site, and I look forward to discussing and hopefully being able to contribute to the discussions about this wonderful watch brand!  So the question I have is in regards to Bulova's lume material history, more specifically radium.  In doing some research, a lot of material I read is not overly specific as to when radium was discontinued.  Does anyone know of a specific year of production that Bulova may have stopped using it?  As I have small children in my home, I have made an effort to avoid bringing radium lumed watches into my home, not want

Request for information on the 10CPACD movement

Hi everyone, I've been trying to find info on this movement for over a year and have had no luck. I'm trying to find a replacement cannon pinion and hour wheel and was wondering if there was a base model for this movement, like you would find in the Interchangeable Parts Catalog. I read in the thread on this movement that it's related to the 10CPAC and 10COAC, but neither of those are in my 1963 red book. If anyone could point me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it!

Dean Martin Bulova?

Hello all,

I am new here and think this is such a great platform to share and learn.  That being said, I have always been a Dean Martin fan and came across an article the other day with this pic and I am trying to see what type of watch he is wearing.  The article said that Bulova was the sponsor for the Variety Show in 1966 so they assumed it was in fact a Bulova.  If that is the case and anyone can try to give me their best guess that would be appreciated as I wanted to then purchase one that is similar.  The author said that it was most likely an Accutron.

Hi all.

What part is missing from this 5AR and what movements have it?

What part, other than the stem, is missing from the 5AR movement?  And what other movements have an interchangable part?  The 5AR appears to be too new to be in any of the parts lists.

I know what part is missing and the manner in which it became so.  I thought it might be more fun to ask this way.
