Watch Description

Another early ladies watch for the database.  I've tentatively put it down as 1921, but after looking at the ads I can't figure out the model.  I assume its from 1921-23 based on the AAI movement.  It has a nice 18k gold case (and I paid less then the value of the gold content for the watch!).   Also, I haven't seen an 18k gold case in the ads for similar watches either.   Anyway, it keeps good time and my wife likes it and has added it to her growing collection...

Been a busy couple of weeks. I also added a 1929 Norman, a 1938 Rite Angle, and a 1926 Trojan to my collection!

Just a thought but I wonder if the silk band decorative end are actually overlapping the ends thus hiding the lug and top and bottom areas making the watch in the illustration appear shorter. Is it possible there is more to the watch under those fancy band ends? It is to me looking at the advert....possible that is.

Tentative  976 for me.

I had actually thought that also. That sure would make it look a lot more like the watch in the ad

Nice watch, Lady Maxim for me.

We have just four other watches in the DB utilising the AAI movement, all date to 1921 except for one from 1920, all have lower movement serial numbers than the above example, and all of them are Lady Maxims, not all have the LM name on the dial either.

We even have ads for LM's in this same case with this same dial, although are 14K or gp.

I'm changing to tentative 976 as well.
