Well I'm happy to say I was able to pick this guy up this evening.  Solid silver with a 10AA movement.  I found the asterisk date stamp at the top putting this at 1924.

The case is pretty cool in that it's 3 pieces.  A top bezel that's removable and has a matching 554 stamp, a middle core which has the movement, and the back of the case which pops off as well.

I was eyeing this one up yesterday and thought it should clean up pretty well being silver. I can't wait to see what you can do to it.

Very cool. Am I seeing a date stamp to the left of the screw head on the left end of the movement serial number? Looks to me like it might be a crescent moon or perhaps a weakly stamped circle?

Won't be 1928. Might be 1924/25 at the latest.

This one is more along the same size as the Ambassador etc from a year or two later.
