Watch Description

Rather large ladies for 1931 I think.  Probably the most etched/scrolled case I've seen for a Bulova ladies watch.

The dial is really cool with metallic designs.  Sapphire type crown.  I'm assuming 14k plate but I don't know.

A pretty wild 16 Jewel, 10 A movement.

I don't know this watch and will look in the ads but it's pretty usual.

Movement is dated 1924, case is one without the globe or shield so would date to 1931. Will look for a case match for this period.

Actually sorry, the penny just dropped. 1924 movement with the case actually dating to 1925 (second number = 5)

Thus it's a 1925 watch which makes more more sense now.

Case match for the 1924/25 154. Dial engraving is different though.

Cool watch plains, will you wear this with a suit or just casual? (calm down Ragnar, just kidding I do like the watch though)

I'd be OK with a '154' ID, in this era the dial difference doesn't concern me.

Agree with the 154 ID

I'm going with the 154 ID. Nice watch.

EDIT March 1 2015: Should this be 153, based on the fill vs solid gold?

Looks like this is another plate/fill 154, which we've been ID'ing as 153

Agreed, based on recent discussions I'll update this to a Bulova 153.

I am new here.  Why would you call it a 153 when the case is plainly marked 159?  I have one that was my mothers confermation gift, engraved Sept 25, 25.

Hi Camano... the "153" is the actual model "name" if you will.  The serial number on the case doesn't have anything to do with the model number.
