Saphire in crown.   Case 25mm from side to side.   28mm lug end to lug end.  Hinged back case.

Identification would be most appreciated.

EDIT: 2013.02.04  First digit of case serial number changed from 0 (zero) to 6, based on confirmation from Janet.

This is the only ad I have found so far featuring this case style, and it comes from May 1924.

There is no mention of name, number or gold content, just that they are Bulova.

I have this same watch and have just posted it. The problem is none of the ads show this watch sold with the gold band. It also has stripes on the face where the hands attach so it is not the 1923 from above.

I'm updating first digit of the case SN in root record to reflect the mis struck 6 vs a zero, as per Janet's comments.
