This pocket watch was released in honor of the Prince of Wales visit to the United States in September 1924.

Bulova pocket watch, 17 Jewels, Swiss movement. Inside back case reads: Bulova Quality Filled. A very fine example of a very early 1925 Bulova pocket watch beautifully presented with a Brass stand.

Wow this is fantastic. Such a great condition, the crystal is so clear it appears to be invisible.

The crystal is indeed invisible :-)

It's so inivisible I have a new one on order.....should be here soon. I'm now starting to test and time the watch. At the momement its running about 15 seconds 'slow' an hour....normally they run fast, so I'm going to tweak it a bit more to see if I can get that figure down. I'm looking forward to having it as my desk clock at work.

With no date code on movement, but post April 1923 Bulova Watch Co sig, maybe this mvnt was made in the latter part of 1923- before they would have started using asterisk in 1924?

Sounds like we know the date of the trip for the Prince:
This pocket watch was released in honor of the Prince of Wales visit to the United States in September 1924.

So my maybe late 1923 idea doesn't pan out, and they just didn't put the date code on some of these early watches. I think we do see exceptions on the pocket watch movements.  The "474" ad used is from 1924.

...unless subject watch model "474" simply had not become the Prince of Whales yet....
