Watch Description

This one fascinates me. It appears to be a 1928 La Fayette with a black lumed dial. Movement is dated 1927, case is 1928. Two piece case shows no plating wear, the only marking on case back exterior is "GF" between the lugs on one end.

Stem has to be removed to free the movement from the bezel, I haven't gotten that far yet.

I am assuming the face was refinished in perhaps the late 1930's or early 1940's? Hands appear original. Band is a white gold plated Kreisler Quality, installed by me. Watch was serviced 6 months ago and is keeping perfect time.

Panel - final thoughts? Time to give this gem a name......

Subject watch holds a 15 jewel movement so isn't a Dorsey.

Regardless of the black dial (which I suspect is original) I would ID this (tentatively) as the La Fayette, which is listed to house a 15 jewelled movement like the subject watch.

Yes I agree based on the 15 jewel movement La Fayette is a better ID

I'm good with La Fayette unless we get a surfaced ad down the road.
