I believe this is the Ethelda model as shown. As to gold content.....that's all on another thread. Advert says 14k, jewelers say 14k, but not stamped, I am not sure.....

Splendid example. Thanks for sharing it with us. Could you possibly provide pics of movement. They are just nice to have for the records

 Ethelda.

Great piece.  The case SN suggests 1927?
Gary- what year is the ad used above?  Thanks

Never mind case SN date...I see you entered shield (1929) from movement.

Now there's something you don't see every day! Nice one! I don't understand why these ladies models seem to be so under valued.

That's one really elegant watch, definately the "Ethelda". Nice researching, good seeing a watch posted with the ad. Strange it's not marked 14K on the caseback but it may be stamped on the lug side of the case hidden by the band.

Ethelda for me too. Now, there's a name parents don't use for their daughters anymore.

That is one beautiful watch and like Bob -  I do not understand why the older womens watches are so under valued.   I really love them.

1929 Ethelda works for me!  A first for our watch database.
The Ethelda first appears in the 1927 ad Gary used in root record (click for full ad), shown next to subject watch.

And again in 1928 ad (click for full ad).

There may be some "artists rendering" differences between vertical bezel engraving on Gary's watch and the two ads, but I don't know if the difference exists in an an actual watch, or if they did, if it would have a different model name.

Bulova probably released a cheaper version in Gold Filled.
