Thank you for the information about the watch.  It appears that the movement is only being held in place by the watch hands (if that makes sense) and the back of the case has a slightly raised circle that fits around the movement when it is snapped together (I added a picture of this above).  The movement itself is stamped 8AT, swiss unadjusted, seventeen 17 jewels, Bulova Watch Co., 311137.  It also has a "shield" on it.  Any ideas on value?  or what they sell for?

Any chance of a photo of the inside back case?

Geoff  Looks like the $50 model was gold filled.  December 1928 ad below.

Will - I just acquired a SECOND Pemberton and it's the GF version. Interesting that is was made in both solid and GF (and they are identical). The GF version has a 17 j 8 AN mvt while this one has an 8 AT. The GF has the style hands shown in the ad while this one has the cathedral style. The GF is also fully attributed to Bulova inside the case back, including the June 10, 1924 Pat Date. I'll add it soon - I think it's in the watch garage for an oil change right now.....

It looks as if the Watch Owner has the Case and Movement seriel numbers crossed up in the root record.

Nice catch Mark - never noticed that when I purchased it and updated the record. It's fixed now.
