Hello all,

After selling off my Bulova collection a few years ago, I am finally back in the Bulova family with this lovely piece I found in a Los Angeles pawn shop. It appears to be a 1930 Lone Eagle with a 13AF movement, but I will let the experts determine its identity. Unexpectedly, it keeps near perfect time.  It appears to be in original condition, but I welcome observations.

Great find! Did the pawn shop know what they were selling?

Any chance of posting a picture of the movement without the dust cover?

Certainly looks all original (leather band excluded....maybe).

Looks like the dial has a bulter finish. Would be interesting to see if there are any markings on the underside.

I really don't think the pawn shop owner knew what he had. Pawn shops these days are a little more savvy about vintage watches than they used to be, but occasionally a real find can be had. In this case, the owner had two trays of vintage watches: Bulovas, Hamiltons and Elgins mostly. All in pretty good and original condition. For the most part they were priced as you'd expect. But this Bulova was the cheapest of the lot and I grabbed it instantly. Yes, it appears all original except for the band and I think it's been serviced in the last couple of years given its near flawless running time. I'll have my watchmaker remove the dust cover and will reshoot the movement and post it when I get a chance.
