Watch Description

1927 Bulova Curtis 17J 9AN with Square date code, refinished & relumed Butler dial with refinished Cathedral hands. 14 K White Gold filled hinged case with a NOS 12K Gold filled Handi-fold rolled edge mesh band. The movement has been completely gone through with many new parts including a new mainspring.  I received this as a Christmas gift last year (2010) with a bunch of other vintage Bulova parts watches, and finally finished it up today installing the new band...Oh well, some things take time...

**Update 9-9-12 Resubmitted to the panel for name correction to "President Madison" due to new ad found by Mark (FifthAvenueRestoration).  The new ad is very hard to read, but the watch pictured looks like a match.

**Update 9-14-12 Model year changed to case serial number date.

Greg, maybe you need to have the Ambassador dial re-done and make sure they put the "Ambassador" name on the dial, skip the Bulova, just Ambassador  ;-)

I just think if the Curtis and Athlete get three stars--or even two--based only on the Price Guide, then my Ambassador should get the same, rather than being kept an "Unknown".  There's no basis for trusting the Guide in one circumstance and not another.  If we have crystal specs to use as well, then that's something, but, as far as I know, we have nothing else for either the Curtis or the Athlete.

Fifth, I will update my Athlete so you can see my comments there.

What year is your Ambassador Lisa?

I must have missed that one, maybe you posted it when I was away the first part of this month.

It didn't look like that when I got it shooter, it was more of a basketcase, but I managed to scrounge enough parts together to bring it back to life...that and a few $$$. : D

Greg, that sure is a dandy watch! The pairing with this bracelet is wonderful, well done!

I "trust" the guide.  Three ticks from me.
