I found this one without the hinges on the case, there is no evidence that they ever were there! Does anyone know what the crystal code is for this wonderful thick glass that's on this watch? Or where I can buy another? Thank you so much guys!

Hi Zappatore88. I think you have a 1936 "President" case with a 1933 "President" movement. I don't think that hurts the value. These are very few and far between.

Lisa lists the the G-S crystal for this model as G-S Y875. Apparently G-S no longer makes this crystal because it is not listed in their latest catalog. The G-S crystal would be acrylic. I don't know which glass crystal you would need. Someone on here should know.

Nice one Tony, this is a beautiful watch. No question that it's a President. The date has me scratching my head though. I thought the stepped case wandering seconds President was last issued in 1935 and the case style switched in 1936. We show no adverts or models in the dB in this style post 1935 but then there's that serial number. I just love a good mystery.

President, period.

Seems like I have a nose for sniffing out all the odd ball watches lol! There are some Roman numerals on the inside of the case near the crystal edge "I VI IX" not sure what that will do for the mystery , the movement has the X symbol on it so that date is good , just that there is no hinge on it which is strange to me, I have two others which are identical except for the missing hinge back.

I have the GS Y875 plastic crystal in NOS condition if you need one. PM me at JP and I will get your information.

The roman numerals scratched inside match the last three digits as your serial number.
