Very nice, not crazy over the quality of the refurb, but nice.

Yah... on a uniquely rare (and universally higher demand amongst physicians and collectors, alike!) watch like this... the case should have been fixed!? But reselling on eBay and proper "refurbing" = NO MARGIN... And therefore it's seldom even DONE... ESPECIALLY if the watch has ALSO been SERVICED!?

The way to go would be snipe it for perhaps $275.00 - $325.00+ and get the case reworked and replated... THEN RESELL it for 400+/- pounds (with an asking price of 500) via another website... IF you have the cash and/or credit to sit on it for 45- 90 days??? (After waiting 3- 4 weeks for the case repair/replating!)

And I suspect that's probably what the buyer, may well DO??? I see 1920s/30s+ GRUEN "Doctor's watches" going for $500. - $3000. USD/= in Germany, the UK and elsewhere... These watches are quite RARE, afterall...

Will, why would you want to resell it?

I'd imagine that if you were going to pay that much money for a beautiful watch such as this (regardless of its curtrent condition...it is 75 years old after all....then it would be a keeper.

As you indicate its one that you often don't find and there for would be a treasured possession in anyones collection.

I'd hate to think that the world of vintage watches has become all about the profit margin.....where's the passion in that?

This watch is a wonderful example of both the style and craftmenship of the 1930s in America. A very nice time piece and I wish the new owner all the luck and hope that they consider adding it to the myBulova.com website.

Steve,

It's actually NOT mine... If it was, I'd have the case redone and likely keep it, if I could afford to do so?!? I posted it as a previously unlogged ID, as I do all of these, once I know what model they are... (I also have 50- 100 "unknowns" and far too many model names to post... unless an UNKNOWN section with photo links for easy recognition, is perhaps (next?) added to the site?!?

Case serial number as listed in root record begins w/ the number 1.  That serial number doesn't look like the one on the case back photo?

This one is owned by Lisa/NOVA of watchophilia.

What is strange, is that the seller of this watch changed the hands when sending to her, it now has gold dauphine  hands!
