So up through 1937 Subject watch w/ 17 jewels would be Lone Eagle? Based on date of first Commentator ads.  Are there Lone Eagle ads in 1936 and/or 1937?

From 1938 onward, the case/dial of subject watch would be Commentator, but the jewel count is wrong (it matches that of the earlier Lone Eagle).

I doubt there's a 1938 unknown model w/ Case/dial of commentator and jewel count of Lone Eagle.

Subject watch is either 1938 Lone Eagle or 1938 Commentator w/ movement swap.

Nice watch Jim, Based on the 1938 case s/n I would have to say Commentator. Movement swap is a possibility.

Based on the case serial number I'm also inclinded to say it's a 1938 Bulova Commentator with a movement swap.
