Note that all the watches in the database identified as '30s Commanders (rightly or wrongly) have 15 jewels. . .

. . . and so do both of the Hancocks. . .

. . . as well as both of the Goldcrafts.

It appears that there was a movement swap somewhere along the way.

They're advertised 15 Jewels also, 'COMMANDER' 'HANCOCK' and 'GOLDCRAFT'.

'HANCOCK' would get My vote, until an ad shows this Case with 17 Jewels and calls it something completely different.

Hancock with swapped out movement.  Serial number corresponds with 1936 date.

yea, that's how i dated the watch - from the square date mark
