Hello keegs, welcome to myBulova. Nice old Bulova pocket watch. Bulova didn't go into pocket models very often, they were more about wrist watches. When we find two date code stamps we always go with the newer, in this 1936.

I'd say the case is that of a Chesterfield as it's not engraved, the dial looks a bit more Douglas.

My ID vote is Chesterfield.

Geoff on the last photo is visible case engraving, subject watch will be Douglas

I see the engraving on the side, but not on the bezel. The Douglas looks to have engraving on both the side and bezel; the Chesterfield has no engraving. Perhaps the case design changed from 1936 to 38, or another model in between with partial engraving.

hmm, I'm sticking to Chesterfield for now. Let's vote!

The Chesterfield had a 15 jewel movement and no engraving and the Douglas had a 21 jewel movement with engraving on the bezel and sides. Maybe it's neither. Does the inside of the case back have Bulova stamped in it Keegs? You listed case manufacturer as "other".

21 jewels, some engraving in both ad and watch, dial similar to the Douglas.  I'm gonna punt for now, thinking its an unknown slightly different than either in the ad.  ...but its an unknown that resembles the Douglas.

Panel, your thoughts?

I don't feel it is either of the models in the ad, closer to the Douglas with some engraving and a 21 jewel movement, but I'm at Unknown right now.

Some of these watches were so similar they were interchangeable, movts could easily be transferred from one to another in the same style, and the cases would accept bezels from another model. I've run across this before with customer's watches, I will service the watch and do the digging to get an ID for them, only to find features from at least two watches.

Unknown at this point.
