Agreed and just like the Buckingham, the Montgomery may also have came in 17 and 21 jeweled versions.

I'm tentative Montgomery.

What is the most recentn production  year for the 17AE (or 17AH) movement?  Our movement database may not include all movement examples in the watch database.   Would we see "stainless back" by 1947?

Could this possibly be a 1937, similar to the two shown in this 1939 ad?

It is kind of hard to ID this one without a clear date, it looks like there is a mark on the main bridge, but it is hard to make out...

Any Datecode on the Movement would be the same in 1937 as it would in 1947, in this instance it is the advertisement which is giving Us the Date of Manufacture.

"Agreed and just like the Buckingham, the Montgomery may also have came in 17 and 21 jeweled versions.

Yes and agreed. (sorry I wasn't paying attention).

If the Case and Dial match the Monty then by all means, why not?

Without a confirmation date on the movement, I would vote unknown, it could be a Douglas as well as a Montgomery...

Can I add more pictures of the watch?  I want to show some more details and data that was etched ion the inside back cover.

Yes, you can add them in your replies, and if you can, check the movement for a date mark in the area I highlighted.

Click on the small green square in the reply box to ad images.

I am not seeing an option to add image. I click on a box that says image but it is not allowing me to add an image from pc. Rather, I see a web link.

The Movement database suggests the 17AE was no longer in production by 1947.
