Is there any reasoning behind the "AAA" stamped into the movement...I have a couple of these 10AE's with that stamped on it.

What is the length measurement of the case excluding the lugs? Lone Eagle should be 29mm. If 32.7 mm, it's an Ambassador.

Ambassador in this style case was 21J, Lone Eagle was  17J.

The other determining factor is grooves on the end of the lugs on LE. It appears the lugs on subject watch were trimmed down to accomodate a leather strap.

I believe you have an Ambassador, like this one.

I went to the database for '39 and I see what you mean, of the 4 examples of the '39 Ambassador, #'s 2 & 3 look like this one and #'s 1 & 4 have no engraving on the side

I see the movement on the fixed link also bares the "AAA" as well.

I'm not quite sure what the "AAA" signifies. I own 2 Ambassadors in this style case, and both are the same movement with the "AAA" stamp. I think we discussed this in the past, but I don't remember what the general concensus was. Panel?
