Watch Description

This is a 1943 cocktail watch.  I have been looking at these for awhile now and my husband treated me to this one for our anniversary.  He decided on this one because it was serviced and came with a year warranty from a watch repair store.

It is solid 14K rose gold with 2 real diamonds and 3 real rubies tested by a jeweler.  Reads BULOVA 14K on the back of the case and an inscription (Aunt Sarah was a very nice aunt!)  The serial # and service marks are on the inside of the case.  It has a 4AR 17 jewel movement.  I haven't been able to find an ad for the name.

I thought these were a little larger than it actually is.  I am happy with the size.  Size comparison to the Duchess.

That also answers your previous question about the rubies.

I really like this Bulova cocktail series. The shapes and use of diamonds and rubies really set them off from all other ladies watches.

It has a name, but for now it's unknown.

Thanks Stephen : ) I think they are pretty special in the unique shape and that it seems like they weren't made for that many years.  That made getting one a must for my collection.

Lovely watch. See a few variations of this style among the 40s ads, but not this particular one. Unknown for now.

Happy Anniversary Kathy! Congrats on this wonderful little keepsake. Shame that she'll won't get a name.

Thank you Geoff.  I actually found a Charlotte from one of the ads listed that he would have gotten for me.  But it didn't come with the warranty and it was going to need work to the prongs.  So we decided the one I could wear and enjoy straight away would be the best choice even if she had to be an Unknown : )

Congrats on finally getting a Cocktail Watch for your collection, it's a beauty but naming will be a challenge.
